An introduction to me.

21, dumb and living off mum.

I kid, as a recent graduate with an upper second class degree I can’t really refer to myself as dumb, and I more live with my mum than off of her (also with dad and younger brother), and I’m relatively self-sufficient as I’ve had a part time job that’s paid for my entire life at uni, but nevertheless I do like a good rhyme in a tag line.

As you can probably gather from that somewhat garbled introduction I am indeed 21 and I do like to write (or more accurately ramble) which probably comes from three years doing an undergrad in English Literature. I very recently graduated which has left me with an excess of free time on my hands so I thought I should probably do something productive alongside whiling my time away in Waitrose and going on the occasional holiday.

To explain my choice of blog title; my name is Bethan which my high school friends decided to lovingly (or for their own amusement who can say) shorten to Bean, but when you tell people your nickname is Bean they tend to think you have a deep love for Heinz which while I do, for the sake of attempted proffesionalism I tend to drop the ‘n’ leaving us with Bea. The ‘thoughts of a flightless’ part is really for my own amusement, I adore travelling, along with every other basic millenial, but I have a deep seated hatred of flying which makes travelling outside of the UK tricky for me. So while bees can fly, in my opinion this bea should not, hense ‘thoughts of a flightless bea’. However, I do tend to contradict that thought quite often, as while I hate them I do tend to force myself onto dreaded planes in order to explore the rest of the world, and this year I have gotten on quite a few so to mark that achievement I thought I’d write a few posts about my different travels.

So that’s what you can expect from the rest of this blog really, my thoughts, memories and honest opinions, probably quite a lot of me contradicting myself but that’s a part of the fun. I hope there will be a lot of travel content (budget pending) but mainly excerpts from my general life, in which I tend to find myself somewhere in the middle of everything, which I’ll explain in my next post.
